Ta kontuzja Tatuma mam wrażenie trochę na rękę zarządowi ! Już po zdobyciu mistrza, przedłużeniu zawodników na bardzo wysokich kontraktach ( miałem wrażenie że wszystkich przepłacają po kolei bez wyjątku na a złość nowemu jeszcze nie istniejącemu wlascicielowi) mówiło się że finansowo ten klub będzie "na a progu bankructwa"..... Jeden Achilles i życie znów "jest piękne". Teraz rozmienienie na drobne "słabszych" elementów układanki będzie uważane za mega deal ! Gdyby coś takiego zrobili gdyby Tatum "przeżył" skończyłoby się zamieszkami kibiców Bostonu ( i mieliby w tyłkach, że klub "tonie" w długach ).

Ale przecież pisałem, że wg mnie ta wymiana jest w dużej części po to, żeby ustawić drużynę, szatnię i rozwój młodych, który tam słabo wyglądał (no chyba, że postęp 25 latka to rozwój "młodych"). Tu nie chodzi o to, że Jrue raptem będzie miał staty 2x lepsze na boisku, bo nie będzie miał. Po prostu impact pewnych graczy jest niewycenialny w ten sposób. Pytanie czy Jrue zostanie...

Ciekawi mnie za to wybór Chińczyka, bo przyznam szczerze poza hasłami w stylu młodszy Wolf czy Chiński Jokic czy Sabonis, to nie brałem go na poważnie w 1 rundzie draftu i to tak wysoko.

Lakers nie mają wyjścia, muszą nim handlować za mobilnego wysokiego. Może wroci temat Okongwu po tym jak Hawks pozyskali Łotysza? Może Mitchell Robinson? Wbrew pozorom jest sporo wysokich do wyciągnięcia, a jak pokazały ostatnie po Lakers muszą pozyskać wysokiego , a i oddania Reavesa po pozyskaniu Luki nie jest już nietradeowalny.

Naz Reid, Wolves Agree To Five-Year, $125M Contract
Naz Reid and the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to sign a five-year, $125 million contract. The deal represents one of the largest contracts ever signed by a player coming off the bench and solidifies Minnesota's commitment to their core rotation after consecutive trips to the Western Conference Finals.

Reid,  who is represented by Sean Kennedy, will decline his $15 million player option for the 2025-26 season to sign the new contract. The contract includes a player option in the fifth year, providing Reid with additional security and flexibility when he is 30. Reid previously signed a three-year, $42 million contract in June 2023.

Reid averaged 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season after winning Sixth Man of the Year in 2024. Reid's versatility as both a traditional center and stretch-five gives head coach Chris Finch valuable lineup flexibility. Reid turns just 26 in August and was an undrafted free agent in 2019 after one season at LSU.

Reid's path from undrafted rookie to $125 million player represents one of the NBA's great success stories. After going unselected in the 2019 NBA Draft despite solid production at LSU, Reid joined Minnesota's Summer League roster and earned a training camp invitation.

Minnesota's commitment to Reid also reflects the modern NBA's emphasis on versatile big men who can space the floor and defend multiple positions. His ability to play alongside Gobert or anchor second units makes him invaluable to championship aspirations.

Retaining Reid was critical for the Wolves after they decided to trade Karl-Anthony Towns before the 2024-25 season. Towns will earn $53.1 million next season, which is more than twice the amount Reid will make on his new contract.

The Boston Celtics are exploring trading newly acquired guard Anfernee Simons and his $27.7 million expiring contract as part of their continued salary-cutting efforts, according to league sources. The move would help Boston position themselves below the luxury tax threshold while creating flexibility to retain key free agents.

Despite already trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis this week, the Celtics remain approximately $15 million above the luxury tax line. The franchise aims to escape the tax entirely to begin resetting the harsh repeater tax penalties while maintaining roster flexibility.

President of basketball operations Brad Stevens emphasized two organizational priorities following Wednesday's NBA Draft: regaining roster flexibility and creating a path to retain free agents Luke Kornet and Al Horford. Both veteran big men are considered crucial pieces for the organization's future plans.

Stevens also acknowledged the complexity of roster decisions under the current collective bargaining agreement.

"There's a lot of things that go into these moves and a lot of things that are really important. And, listen, again, it goes back to prioritizing our flexibility," Stevens said.

The Celtics acquired Simons and Georges Niang earlier this week, but both players are candidates for immediate trades before playing games in Boston. The team appears focused on keeping Sam Hauser despite his tradeable four-year, $45 million contract.

Simons averaged 19.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season across 70 games with the Portland Trail Blazers. His scoring ability and expiring contract make him an attractive trade candidate for teams seeking offensive production. Simons was acquired as part of the Holiday trade.

With Jayson Tatum facing a lengthy recovery from a ruptured Achilles injury, the Celtics have additional incentive to reduce payroll now while positioning for future spending flexibility.

"The fact of the matter is the new CBA is set up so that teams can't spend enormous amounts of money for long periods of time," said vice president of basketball operations Mike Zarren.
