According to sources, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have been on the hunt for veteran point guard, and Paul is on the list. There have also been talks about Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook being a potential candidate to move back home to Los Angeles in a sign-and-trade deal that could include free agent point guard Dennis Schroder, forward Kyle Kuzma and guard Talen Horton-Tucker, sources said.

For Paul to join forces with James for the first time in their careers, it would likely take a sign-and-trade with the Suns. The most the over-the-cap Lakers can offer Paul without a sign-and-trade is a $9.5 million taxpayer midlevel exception. The attraction of chasing his first championship with James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers could be an appealing option for Paul to ponder. Keep in mind that Paul, a former LA Clippers star, still lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two kids.

According to an NBA source, two Atlantic Division squads, the C Bags and 76ers, have interest in Knicks swingman Reggie Bullock, who started all season at either shooting guard or small forward.

Bullock’s preference is to stay with the Knicks, but he likely will command the full mid-level exception of $9.23 million. One source believes Bullock, who turned 30 in March, will seek a three-year deal.

1.

The Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic have made offers to the Cleveland Cavaliers to move up to No. 3, sources tell The Ringer.

The Cavaliers have received significant trade interest in the pick in general.

While this draft began as having a top-5, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Kuminga have appeared to drop out of what is a top-3 in Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Evan Mobley.

The Magic own picks No. 5 and No. 8, while the Raptors are at No. 4.

If the Raptors stay at No. 4, sources tell The Ringer that Suggs isn't a lock and that they will also consider Scottie Barnes.

Reggie Bullock is expected to receive interest from a number of teams in free agency.

While the New York Knicks would like to retain Bullock, the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers will also pursue him.

Bullock would prefer to stay with the Knicks and will likely seek a three-year deal. Bullock will likely command the full mid-level exception of $9.23 million.

The New York Knicks have signed Scott Perry to a contract extension.

Perry was first hired by the Knicks in 2017 during the Steve Mills tenure. Perry survived the hiring of Leon Rose in the spring of 2020.

Perry was on an expiring deal and led in the signing of Julius Randle in 2019.

The Atlanta Hawks have extended the qualifying offer to John Collins, which will make him a restricted free agent.

Collins will be one of the top free agents on the market after he was unable to agree to an extension with the Hawks before the start of the 20-21 season.

Collins' qualifying offer will be worth approximately $7.7 million.

The Los Angeles Lakers made their first move in what promises to be a busy offseason by extending a qualifying offer to second-year guard Talen Horton-Tucker, the team announced Thursday.

The qualifying offer for Horton-Tucker is $1.9 million, according to ESPN front office insider Bobby Marks, and will make the 20 year old a restricted free agent, allowing the Lakers to match any outside offer to retain their former second-round pick.

L.A. has "early Bird rights" and can re-sign Horton-Tucker for a contract that projects to start at $10.4 million, according to Marks. The contract must last a minimum of two seasons.

Horton-Tucker averaged 9.0 points on 45.8% shooting with 2.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals in more than 20 minutes per game last season.

According to Marc Stein’s latest newsletter, the Lakers are “exploring the options” regarding Paul this offseason, should he seek to move on from the Phoenix Suns. The interest could be mutual.

“I still see the Lakers as the most realistic threat to derailing the Suns’ hopes of re-signing Paul, no matter how hard it is to pinpoint a pathway for them to acquire him because of the cap complexities,” Stein writes. “The reasoning: We know Paul would want to play again in Los Angeles, where his family still resides during the season, and also that he would want to play alongside James.”

Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Spencer Dinwiddie each have interest in joining the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.

I kto jeszcze? CP3, może Wade wróci z emerytury, Lillard.

To może sięgnąć jeszcze po Paytona i Malone? Raz się nie udało, to może tym razem pyknie?
